Biography

Charles Payseur

Charles Payseur grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, before scuttling off to the frigid recesses of northwestern Wisconsin. Perhaps addled by the cold and snow, he settled with his partner in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where he probably enjoys the various craft breweries and excellent cheeses a bit more than is strictly healthy for him. As a writer, his fiction and poetry has appeared at Nightmare Magazine, Lightspeed, Unlikely Story, and Strange Horizons, among others. He also runs Quick Sip Reviews, where he expounds his opinions on speculative short fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. He can be found on Twitter as @ClowderofTwo

by Christine Heppermann - Fiction, Poetry, Young Adult 12+

In 50 poems, Christine Heppermann confronts society head on. Using fairy tale characters and tropes, POISONED APPLES explores how girls are taught to think about themselves, their bodies and their friends. The poems range from contemporary retellings to first-person accounts set within the original tales, and from deadly funny to deadly serious. Complemented throughout with black-and-white photographs from up-and-coming artists, this is a stunning and sophisticated book to be treasured, shared, and paged through again and again.
