Anthony Landi is a rising Junior at Loyola University Maryland, interning with The Book Report Network. He writes for Loyola University's newspaper and has an AM radio show in Baltimore.
Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson is many things: virtuoso drummer, producer, arranger, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon bandleader, DJ, composer, and tireless Tweeter. He is one of our most ubiquitous cultural tastemakers, and in this, his first book, he reveals his own formative experiences --- from growing up in 1970s West Philly as the son of a 1950s doo-wop singer, to finding his own way through the music world and ultimately co-founding and rising up with the Roots, a.k.a., the last hip hop band on Earth.
Tell us about the books you’ve finished reading with your comments and a rating of 1 to 5 stars. During the contest period from February 6th to February 20th at noon ET, three lucky readers each will be randomly chosen to win a copy of KEEPER OF LOST CHILDREN by Sadeqa Johnson and THIS IS NOT ABOUT US by Allegra Goodman.
Our major goal for 2026 is to redesign Bookreporter and the rest of the sites in The Book Report Network. How can you help? We have launched a GoFundMe campaign and are asking for donations. Any level of donation that you would be comfortable with is sincerely appreciated. If you would prefer donating via check, please send to:
