In Kristen Orlando’s breakout new novel, YOU DON’T KNOW MY NAME, she takes the word “undercover” to a whole new level. Based an idea she thought of while in the shower, Kristen Orlando writes about a girl who is the daughter of two CIA agents. Fantastic writing and a buzzing sensation to find out what's next keeps this book going at a quick pace and doesn't let you set it down until it's over. This is a book you will not regret reading.

"This epic book has everything a reader needs to feel full and passionate about its story. Any reader out there with an interest in action or adventure novels should read YOU DON’T KNOW MY NAME."

Imagine a life in which you can never tell anyone who you truly are, and your life is at the mercy of the government spy organization known as the Black Angels. Two of these expertly trained and extremely dangerous operatives are Reagan Elizabeth Hillis’s parents. One of the perks of having parents who are agents is that Reagan has acquired a unique set of skills which are not commonly found in teenagers. Reagan has been trained her whole life to be a Black Angel, with her training taking control over the majority of her life, leaving little time for the social life that a teenager needs. As Reagan begins to crave a normal life --- all while feeling the pressure to follow in her parents’ footsteps --- a new threat moves in and suddenly her decisions can no longer only be “yes” or “no,” because she has a job to do.

Luke, her best friend, is getting closer and closer to her despite the fact that he has only known her for roughly a year. Soon their friendship has Reagan on her toes wanting so much more, but her family has her on a rope and they don’t intend to let her fall for the West Point-bound boy. This romance blossoms, but sadly it is filled with heartache, broken trust and secrets. Reagan knows that her choice whether or not to be a part of the Black Angels is going to affect everything --- although she can’t possibly know if she will even live long enough to make her choice, due to the fact her parents past might come back to get her.

The majority of this book is plot-based and is not as detailed as it could have been, although this helps promote the fast pace of this book. Personally, I read this whole book in one sitting because of how intense YOU DON’T KNOW MY NAME is, along with the desire to read the next chapter. You read the book through the point of view of Reagan and, in my opinion, she seems too stuck in her ways and unresponsive to help. This may deter readers from buying this book although I assure you this read is one for your bookshelf. The supporting characters are thoroughly discussed and you can put an image to every word you read, which is a major accomplishment in any novel. All of the action scenes flow and have balance which helps ground the reader, especially when the scenes take place over multiple chapters. Overall, this epic book has everything a reader needs to feel full and passionate about its story.

Any reader out there with an interest in action or adventure novels should read YOU DON’T KNOW MY NAME. Lovers of the Gallagher Girls series would also appreciate this new exciting novel.
