Penelope longs for some free time, some time to just sit, think, write or do whatever else she wants. But her mom, who is so concerned about the future and keeping things on track and being on time, has Penelope’s days scheduled from beginning to end. Every minute of every day is accounted for.

Then, the unthinkable happens: one day, nothing is scheduled. Her mother inadvertently skipped a page when she filled out Penelope’s calendar. Penelope somehow manages to fall into the “hole in her schedule,” where she goes on an adventure to The Realm of Possibility.

This is an allegorical fantasy adventure filled with witty wordplay, puns and plot twists.

The Realm used to be a wonderful place where there was enough time for everyone and everyone could take their time. Then, Chronos built the Clock Tower and set out to control everyone’s time. Penelope must battle both Chronos and an army of Clockworkers, go on a Flight of Fancy and save herself from the “grip of time,” both in the Realm and in her normal life.

THE LOST TRACK OF TIME might be likened to somewhat of a cross between ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND and THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ --- Penelope falls into a “hole” in her schedule, just as Alice falls down the rabbit hole, and the character The Great Moodler sounds a bit like the Wizard. The Great Moodler doesn’t pretend to be something she’s not, but she does give Penelope advice and hints about what Penelope needs to do.

This is an allegorical fantasy adventure filled with witty wordplay, puns and plot twists. Reading the story should make you rethink about the true value of time. Debut author Paige Britt brings us a story that is “timeless” – pun intended. Enjoy!
