Jessica’s house was set on fire. Her husband died, but she and her daughter escaped the flames. Dubbed “The Echo Man,” he stages his murders to look exactly like those from the past. More people are dying, and the pressure is on for detectives Cara Elliott and Noah Deakin to find --- and stop --- the killer before there are additional victims. In the midst of all this drama, Elliott learns that her husband is cheating on her, and her brother is suffering crippling pain resulting from his near-death experience with the culprit.
Debut novelist Sam Holland has produced a harrowing plot, filled with blood, gore, violence and almost non-stop action. His characters are well-rounded and full of flaws, some of which are unexpected. The numerous plot twists along the way will keep you engaged and guessing as you try to figure out exactly what is going on. Warning: If you have a weak stomach, you may want to skip over some of the longer, more detailed parts of the murder scenes.
