In 1896, he begins to travel the lengths of young America, knowing that while everything around him is growing and changing he will never do the same.
THE DEATH AND LIFE OF ZEBULON FINCH is written as if it were Finch’s own autobiography. The writing itself is the best part of the book; it transports readers into this world filled with the rich history of the United States, and as someone very interested in that subject, I didn't want to put it down. The character development in this book is just amazing; the narrator seems like an entirely different person in the beginning. As THE DEATH AND LIFE OF ZEBULON FINCH continues, readers will begin to connect greatly with Zebulon, and once they witness his growth, they won't want the book to end (even though they will have just read 642 pages of greatness).
It has been a while since I have enjoyed a fantasy as much as I enjoyed THE DEATH AND LIFE OF ZEBULON FINCH
The details in THE DEATH AND LIFE OF ZEBULON FINCH are the best bonuses a book could have. Finch has a sort of humor that only comes out when insulting the people or situations around him, and it adds an extra flair to the book that makes it so much better. And as Finch’s moods and personality changes, you learn to adjust and fall in love with the book over and over again (although, I did get a little aggravated with him at times).
It has been a while since I have enjoyed a fantasy as much as I enjoyed THE DEATH AND LIFE OF ZEBULON FINCH, which is especially surprising given the horror aspect of the book (trust me, I'm a coward). So, if anyone is hesitant to read this book due to the horror, just jump in anyway --- it really won't bother you.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves or is interested in fantasy or historical fiction. And if you like some horror in your books, then this is definitely the one for you! And if size intimidates you, don't worry --- by the end of it you will be desperate for volume two.
