The middle and end is a page-by-page book of fact with somewhat irrelevant asides about various plants Probst has experienced during his time hosting "Survivor." This random assortment of facts could have been more seamlessly tied into the overall narrative however they stand alone providing disjointed information. Without strong organization it can be difficult to see how all these facts fit into a cohesive understanding of plants.

The focus on vocabulary with a handy glossary is both simulating and the best attribute of this book. I would recommend this book for all children who have an interest in plants and parents who would like to brush up on their botanical vocabulary. It's a fun and educational as well as dangerous exploration of the world of plants and will surely ignite the inner botanist in all who read it.
