Ellice Littlejohn is a lawyer working for a big trucking company in Atlanta, one of only a handful of Black people in the building.

When her boss is murdered, Ellice is immediately moved into his office to take his place. On the surface, this opportunity is a dream come true for her, but it doesn’t seem to be playing out that way. Ellice isn’t treated like a person in charge of anything; rather, she feels disrespected by the white men around her. She is certain that the color of her skin has something to do with this, but she is convinced there is more to the story.

"The action is fast-paced, the characters are believable, and unfortunately so is the novel’s premise."

Ellice’s suspicions prompt her to do some investigating to find out what is really going on. What she discovers is chilling --- shady dealings within the company --- but what can she do about it? Should she keep her mouth shut and pretend nothing is wrong, or should she expose the truth and risk her job…and possibly her own life?

Debut novelist Wanda M. Morris keeps the tension building little by little as the reader learns about Ellice’s history, where she came from, what she did before becoming an attorney, and “all her little secrets” that she has tried to keep buried along the way --- and how they might affect the position she is in now.

As a story about a Black woman in a white man’s universe, especially in the legal profession, ALL HER LITTLE SECRETS encompasses a number of themes, including racial and gender prejudices, injustices in the legal system, and white supremacy. The action is fast-paced, the characters are believable, and unfortunately so is the novel’s premise. Morris presents a plausible, all-too-real scenario in today’s world.

Everyone has something to hide...

Ellice Littlejohn seemingly has it all: an Ivy League law degree, a well-paying job as a corporate attorney in midtown Atlanta, great friends, and a “for fun” relationship with a rich, charming executive, who just happens to be her white boss. But everything changes one cold January morning when Ellice arrives in the executive suite and finds him dead with a gunshot to his head.

And then she walks away like nothing has happened. Why? Ellice has been keeping a cache of dark secrets, including a small-town past and a kid brother who’s spent time on the other side of the law. She can’t be thrust into the spotlight --- again.

But instead of grieving this tragedy, people are gossiping, the police are getting suspicious, and Ellice, the company’s lone Black attorney, is promoted to replace her boss. While the opportunity is a dream-come-true, Ellice just can’t shake the feeling that something is off.

When she uncovers shady dealings inside the company, Ellice is trapped in an impossible ethical and moral dilemma.
