They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. But what if you don't want to hear what it has to say?
"A LIE FOR A LIE by Robin Merrow MacCready is a mystery woven into a beautiful love story....I really felt like MacCreadys characters were realistic and relatable, even in their worst moments."
Kendra Sullivan was just trying to spend the day at the fair with her best friend, Jenn. She took picture after picture of the festivities around her but one picture seemed a little bit different. After downloading the pictures Kendra discovers something unexpected. With some help from her friends, Kendra decides to investigate. In between investigative excursions Kendra spends her time on the beach, trying to win over the boy she has a crush on. What she finds on the beach and through her investigations is nothing less than shocking. And finally it is up to her to decide whether to share the secret she has discovered or live in silence, and whether to give the "other" boy a chance.
Kendra also lives with PTSD and anxiety from a boat accident years before. I think it is really interesting that so many young adult books are including characters who struggle with their mental health. I'm really impressed by authors like MacCready who can incorporate real life struggles without their character being defined by those struggles.
A LIE FOR A LIE by Robin Merrow MacCready is a mystery woven into a beautiful love story. Kendra's life is far from complicated, but who lives a simple life anyway? I really felt like MacCreadys characters were realistic and relatable, even in their worst moments. This book is really impossible to put down. So grab a cup of tea, get comfortable, and enjoy!

People say that when you have a life-altering experience, your brain takes a picture and that snapshot stays forever in your memory to retrieve again. And again, and again. Kendra Sullivan loves taking pictures. But when a photograph reveals something unexpected, she sets out to investigate the situation. Before long, Kendra is torn between destroying her family as she's known it and keeping a very dark secret that might ultimately destroy her.
