Carly Robbins
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Very cute book
Parker Grace
Incarceron by Catherine Fisher
I LOVED this book. It's a science-fiction/fantasy-adventure book, full of great plot twists, interesting characters and settings, as well as a unique and creative plot line. The writing is flawless, and the imagination behind everything from the characters to the politics of this book is different and enthralling. I really enjoyed this book and am going to buy the sequel.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
The next greatest book for teens after the Hunger Games is The Raven Boys. After reading the book I was like WOW! I can't wait for a sequel. The intriguing plot pulls readers in with its realistic characters who have the darkest secrets. On September 18th, which also is my birthday, I hope to be going to Maggie Stiefvater's book signing. She successfully makes its readers big fans and I would recommend it to everyone. (I have already recommended it to my bestfriend.)

If You Come Softly by Jacqueline Woodson
"If You Come Softly" is a relatable, current day love story that shows that race doesn't matter. It has a twist at the end that no one expects and leaves you in shock even after the last page. There is also a companion to this book called "Behind You" that is also very good.
Sarah Chao
Sword Mountain by Nancy Yi Fan
At first I hesitated in reading this book, because I thought it would be a kid book. But later, I was bored and had nothing to do, so I just picked it up and read it. I did not expect it to be so good.
Sword mountain was a really good book, even for my age. I recommend it for all ages! Can't wait for more books to come out :)

From What I Remember by Valerie Thomas & Stacy Kramer
Honestly, it had all I love in a book, Lots of laughing and adorable romances. Killer characters help too.
Madi Brumbelow
Forever by Maggie Stiefvater
I love this series! I recommend this to all, even if you aren't a werewolf lover.
Mariel
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
With the combo of amazing characters and riveting plot lines Clare captures you in a story of complete awesomeness.Love triangles, steam punk, and action this is a wonderful book.
Sydney Williams
Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer
What an amazing book! This book combines two worlds very seamlessly, and although I'm not one for romance I loved this book. I fell head over heels for this book, and it is a great read. It's like a fairy tale for teens!
Jennifer Werth
Kisses From Hell by Kristin Cast, Richelle Mead, Kelley Armstrong and Alyson Noel
This collection of short stories involving vampires is extremely addicting. Ever since I read the first collection, PROM NIGHTS FROM HELL I have been drawn to these types of books. And this one was no exception.
I love how Richelle Mead's story is set in the world of her Vampire Academy series, which is about Lissa's parents when they were her age. It's fun seeing some familiar names that we know from the VA series, obviously of the adults, when they themselves were young kids trying to navigate their lives as Moroi.
All the stories were really enjoyable to read.
Gale Nelson
Lover Reborn by J. R. Ward
If you like vampires then you will love this!
Jamie Krakover
Katana by Cole Gibsen
Katana is a fantastic book with a strong female protagonist that is embodied by the spirit of a 15th century Samurai. Its a great read for teens. It's sarcastic, funny, action packed and even has a bit of romance.
Samuel
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
If you are looking for your stereotypical sentimental story, then this is for you. However, that's all it is. Looking for originality - not here. I was expecting something amazing because it is a contemporary "classic," but it held no revolutionary thought processes or amazing insights. The one aspect I did appreciate was a look into the life of the Afghan people. It shows the contrast between Islamic, Middle Eastern thought and western, American thought.
Angela Huang
Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
Ruby Red is a fast-paced time traveling adventure with action, mystery and romance that will entrance the reader from the very beginning until the last page. The characters of Ruby Red were all diverse and believable; however, at certain points, some characters went to some extremes. Otherwise, I loved Ruby Red for its original plot and vivid world building.
Alec Reynolds
Hunger by Micheal Grant
This book was so intense and amazing it was hard to put down. The characters had to go through so much from; segregation, the hardships of missing family and especially hunger. This story is one where you'll be asking yourself what would you do if you were in the main characters position. It also makes you look at the real world and see that it almost not that different. The Gone series is one of the best ones I've read.
Tristan Jackson
Marked by P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast
In a world where vampyres have always existed, a girl named Zoey get marked as a fledgling vampyres who joins a school called the House of Night where's she will learn and train how to become a adult vampyre, only if she can make it through the change. I loved this book because it has a different thing to it then other vampire books and I love that there are so many books to this series. This book is amazing and you will get hooked on the series!
Philip Taylor-Smith
Brisingr by Christopher Paolini
This book is very cool. This book is the third book of the Inheritance Cycle. I enjoyed the writing of Christopher Paolini. The journey and adventure theme is overriden by a great plot and the urge to keep on reading because of the cliffhangers that are left at the end of every chapter in this book. I just can't wait till I start the 4th book Inheritance in this series and see the epic and prolonged conclusion to this book that I have been waiting for. I would reccomend this book to people who like fantasy and adventure because if you are one of those kind of people you would just love reading this type of book.

The Last Promise by Richard Paul Evans
The Last Promise was a very good book. I loved it.
Marianne Vadney
Golden Lilly by Richelle Mead
Sydney is the kind of girl I would love to see more of in YA fiction. She’s smart, witty, and not afraid to show it, and even though she tries to come off tough as nails she still has a kind passionate heart. Having her character share the spotlight with Adrian in the new series is pure genius. As an Alchemist she was taught to hate vampires her entire life, and her job is to clean up their messes so it doesn’t spill into the human world. Adrian is a high society vampire who is often considered a reject joke, but has a wonderfully complex soul. With a cross between her hard analytical views and a compassionate heart, Sydney finds Adrian rocking her already precarious view of the world.
Annika
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
This book is set on an island with a longstanding tradition of racing the "capall uisce", or the water horses. Fierce, strong, and violent, these horses emerge from the wild sea and are captured by the brave islanders who plan to race them. It is extremely dangerous, and both horse and rider risks their life. The race and the island provides a backdrop for the main characters: Puck Connolly and Sean Kendrick. Coming from completely different lives, they both plan to race this year: Sean on his boss' water horse and his best friend, also as the returning champion, and Puck on her regular island horse. They must learn to help each other and risk everything for the chance to win: for Sean's freedom and dream and Puck's home and family.
Alonzo Dean
The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I enjoyed this book because it gave a interesting look on myths about demons and angels. I loved the love triangle between Clary, Jace, and Simone, but I must say it was a little disturbing to find out that Jace was Clary's lost long brother. I still enjoyed the adventure and plot twisters so all in all it was a good book.
Sydney Gates
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
Great writing, original story and endearing characters.
Nora Abbott
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
This book is about a future America that is cured of the most dangerous disease of all: amor deliria nervosa, commonly referred to as love. It is a good read and it makes me laugh about how the characters react throughout the book when the disease comes into their lives unexpectedly.
Whitney
Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer
On last count this year, I read over three hundred books. This not only made my favorite of the year, but possibly of all time. This. Book. Was. AMAZING! The sad parts were tear-jerkers, the jokes made me shake with laughter, and the plot-twists were unpredictable. The ending satisfied me, and left me exhausted, made me feel like I ran a marathon. Everything you want in a book was crammed in, leaving no room for slow moments. A Winner.
Diane Pollock
Welcome to Bordertown by Holly Black
Cool modern/urban/dystopian tales of elven magic!
Seth Hadley
The Enemy by Charlie Higson
I have read the entire series of The Enemy and it is always surprising me. The Enemy takes place in a post-apocalyptic London where everyone 16 or older either died or, even worse, didn't die from a disease. Those that didn't die now only have enough sense to attack and eat the children 15 and under who didn't get the disease. There is never a dull moment in any of the books. Whether the kids are fighting the zombies(referred to as Grown-Ups, Strangers, or Sickos) or fighting the other kid factions for power, there is always action. The characters all feel really deep and you really care about each and every one. You either love them enough to want them to live or hate them enough to want them to die. Speaking of death, there is a lot.
Tanner Benham
The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Claire
Great book that includes a lot of fantasy from angels to vampires. Likeable characters and flows well.
Gina
Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer
I could distinctly tell it wasn't written solely by Jodi Picoult. It had a distinctive writing style different from how Jodi writes them, herself.
The fantastical elements were perfectly balanced with natural elements and this was the first teen book I had read in a while.
At 16, finding books classified as "teen" can be hard.
Daisy Zhou
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
I love these stories! I feel so completely stumped by all the random facts of the mysteries that I can't believe how all the jigsaw pieces fit perfectly. I feel like each little adventure is too short and so I will be looking into Doyle's novels in the future.
Daisy Zhou
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
Absolutely amazing! I couldn't put this book down at all. As usual Cassandra Clare has her witty dialogue that saves the characters from feeling completely hopeless. Because there are some seriously dark times in here. JC fans there are so many scenes with so you wont be disappointed and even better Simon plays a LARGE ROLE.
Daisy Zhou
RIpper by Stefan Petrucha
This feels like a Sherlock Holmes story. Set back in the late 1800's too. So many plot shifts and turns. This book aims at younger children too. Funny dialogue and people. I absolutely love the quirky characters and allusions to other books. My heart goes out to Carver the main character and orphan boy who finds the unexpected.
Daisy Zhou
The Odyssey by Homer
Confusing from the beginning but at I got in to the pattern of writing I learned to appreciate it more. Of course this is a summer reading book. A challenging one at that.
Daisy Zhou
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
If you are a first time classical reader this is the book to start with. When you actually start to understand it, you'll find that it's like a chick flick, a romantic novel that you read except with oldie words.
Daisy Zhou
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
There is so much history to be learned here.

The Strange Power by L. J. Smith
I would like to decree that the Dark Visions series by L. J. Smith is for teenagers who crave surreal humor, ballistic love triangles, and the supernatural. I for one was completely stoked and thrilled by the first book, The Strange Power in her Dark Vision series. It's an amazing trilogy for anyone to get to read and it's also very worthy of being reread. I love how L. J. Smith builds up her characters in her novels. You may even find yourself falling in love with one of the characters. You should definitely grab this book before summer ends for it is a great book to read after midnight with it's twisted and it's diabolically brilliant plot.
Tiffany Wang
The Fire by James Patterson
I am currently reading The Fire by James Patterson. It's the story of a witch and a wizard and how they try to overthrow a ruthless dictator. I enjoyed the brother-sister loyalty in this book, and like all the small details and characters. Family and friends also play an important part in this story, which is also why I like it. Its a great book so far - the only thing I dislike is that some characters had no background, and I would have appreciated that.
Hassan Mohamoud
Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon
This book is really great, and is filled with lovable and witty characters.
Daisy Zhou
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
So far I love it! There is so much history I am learning and when I am not trying to untangle all the historical facts and the sequencing I am trying to figure out the main character. She is very complex and the development is monumental. I can't wait to figure out what happens or what happened I guess I should say. It's pretty complicated. You just have to read for yourself.
Daisy Zhou
Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
I didn't like this book at first and once I reread it, I realized that I did like it. This is a book that brings out the girl in you. The realistic ramblings of a girls whose world is turned upside down make it more earthy. If you are a person who hates that then no this book is not for you to read. However if you can stomach the little problems then go right on ahead.
Crysta Honore
Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
It was a great book about a girl basically trying to find herself. I love how it was an emotional roller coaster. She finds a love and a true friend, although shes had her ups and downs with her mother and her sister left her she found her way in her new life after her sister found her.
Crysta Honore
Catch by Will Leitch
This was a great read. The emotion of the character and how he feels about going to college is extravagant. It keeps me on my toes. How he feels that going away to college is scary you can tell he doesn't like new things.
Ashley Harris
By The Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead by Julie Anne Peters
This is a compelling read that will tug at your heartstrings. A very good book if you like tragic stories, includes a lot of fighting against bullying. Chapters go by a countdown of days that the main character is planning to commit suicide in, but she finds a website called "Through The Light" that she strangely connects with. This is a book that's definitely worth your time! :-)
Ethan Collier
The Hunger Pains by Harvard Lampoon
This is a hilarious parody of the hugely popular book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This story practically has the same basic story line as The Hunger Games, but is written in a new, funny way. For example, in The Hunger Pains, the character Katniss is Kantkiss. Kantkiss volunteers for her sister Prin, (short for Princess) , when Prin's name is called on "Super Fun Day," or "Reaping Day." District 12 is the telemarketing district in this book. The Capital has Jamaican accents. Cinna is Cinnabon. Rue is a baby in this book, renamed Run. If you were a huge fan of The Hunger Games, this is the book for you!
Holly Biggs
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Orphaned by the Border Wars and taken under the wing of the most powerful, Darkling, Alina Starkov seems to be the Sun Summoner...one who can destroy the monsters of the Fold forever. There may be other plans for her, though, in this fascinating story of friendship, romance, obsession, and hoped. I couldn't put it down and can't wait until the next installment!
Lane Beaver
Young Avengers by Allan Heinburg
I am very skeptical about Superhero-spinoffs, especially when reckless, angsty teenagers are the central characters. However, Young Avengers is, in my opinion, one of the best graphic novels Marvel has put out in recent years. The art is beautiful, and the writing is quirky and humorous. I'm looking forward to reading the entire series!
Clara
Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
I was disappointed with Brisingr, but loved the first two books of this series, so i wasn't planning on reading this one, for awhile at least. But my friend started reading it, and since i wasn't going to read it, she told me what was happening. Then i became interested enough to read it, and was really happy with it!! It's a good ending to a great story! I recommend it for sure!!
Raina Salinas
The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis
This book was a fun read that had humorous dialogues and characters with a unique storyline that is told by Kenny, a young boy with a family that has a reputation for being the Weird Watsons(or so he says). They live in Flint, Michigan where it was really cold but racism wasn't that extreme in there. His brother is a self-proclaimed juvenile delinquent and their grandma just happens to call the whole family down to Birmingham, which is where the story gets interesting because of the unexpected chain of events that happen near the end. Not to mention the awe-inspiring afterword. Nevertheless, this book has kind of a slow plot at the beginning but it pays off in the end so its a love-hate book.
Korynne Haymond
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
When a soul named Wanderer is placed inside of Melanie Stryder, she refuses to let it take control of her. The soul struggles with the everyday life of a being a human and Melanie is keeping secrets from it. But when the soul falls in love with the same person as Melanie loves, conflicts arise. Melanie will not let her Jared love the soul instead of her. This captivating novel is about love, struggles, loyalty, and new realities. This will draw readers in until the very end. It is highly recommended.
Rita Lee
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
This book was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. It's one of my required reading books. It's about a world that could possibly come about in later years, which focuses on community, identity, and stability.

The Emerald Atlas by John Stephens
The Emerald Atlas had a dragging start that I struggled to read past, but I was rewarded with a suspenseful quest. The basic plot was overused, but Stephens brought his own unique twist and a typical, sometimes predictable antagonist, the Countess, that I loved to hate. With the help of a super old enchanted book (the Atlas), three siblings with missing parents travel back in time by accident and are thrown in the middle of a crisis which had horrible consequences the three kids saw in the present/future. What kept me reading was the time crunch, suspense, humor, complex plot, and main characters' diverse personalities. Most of all, the bigger picture, which wasn't resolved so I'll be reading the next book in the series.
Hayley
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
This was a really good book, and it's the first time I read it. I had no idea what it was about, but knew it was really popular and had a movie out. I haven't seen the movie, either. I was drawn into the book at the very first chapter. I highly recommend this book.
Teresa Armstrong
Hush: An Irish Princess' Tale by Donna Jo Napoli
Hush: An Irish Princess' Tale, is one my my favorite books. I love the history behind this Irish tale. Donna Jo Napoli is one of the best authors there is. I've read this book more times than I can count. When I read it, I feel like I'm sailing alongside Melkorka and her sister, Brigid on the slave ship.
Patti DelValle
Salvation of a Saint by Keigo Higashino
This is the first I have read from this author & from what I am reading, I will be reading more! This is a who-dun-it, but with so many twists that it's a hard to put down book! Highly recommend! The only problem I have is with the names-pretty hard to pronounce, but other than that...spot on!
Naorin Hossain
Everlost by Neal Shusterman
This book was ok and I really liked Allie and the McGill's characters. I wasn't that into it because I'm not a big fan of fantasy.
Candice James
Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins
Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2012. I was completely swept up in this book. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Great angel story, plus there's a road trip!
Rebecca King
Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
This book was a fantastical adventure that kept me turning page after page. The story of a girl named Evie with an unusual power that is working for a supernatural, Men In Black style organization after she was abandoned as a child. The story takes on a new element when a supernatural creature no one has ever seen before is found trying to break into the files room, then becomes involved with Evie and pulls her into a dangerous world. It's a thriller with a fast-paced story that keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end, which is why I gave it five stars.
Peyton Swain
The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong
This book was very entertaining! I love Kelley Armstrong's work. This book is about Maya Delaney, an adopted native girl who begins to experience some weird situations with cougars, a year after her best friend Serena's death. It takes place in Salmon Creek, a tiny medical research town on Vancouver Island, a town so isolated and tiny they have to drive an hour to the nearest city. It was quite a good read!
Sydney Welsh
Wings by Aprilynne Pike
It's enchanting! Exhilarating! Breath-taking! While I was browsing around the bookstore I happened upon this book. Hearing good reviews and looking at the cover had me sold. It's this story about a girl who goes through an extreme change that begins her destiny. Laurel, the main character, learns that everything she thought she knew was a lie. That certain types of people are watching her and that she is never safe. I couldn't put the book down and read it in about five hours. This book is pleasurable and has exciting action scenes that I rarely find in books. I definitely recommend this book to anyone over eleven and I guarantee you'll be lost in Laurel's new world.
Tania
The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima
This is the number 1 book I recommend to anyone who asks it is jam packed with suspense and has a touch of romance. The Demon King has many surprises and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time while reading it. You won't be able to put it down. It is the first book in the Seven Realms series containing four books.
Emily Wemple
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I loved this book! It is a futuristic adventure type story with only a small bit of romance. You can really look up to main character Katniss, who is more interested in finding food than finding a boyfriend. A Must Read!!!!!!!!!!
Kate
Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard
I LOVE this book!!! The main thing I found enjoyable was the topic it focused on. Instead of vampires, or werewolves, it focused on zombies!!!! How cool is that?!?!?

Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
I really liked this book because of its creative storyline. The characters seem so real also. It made me cry at some points even.
Lucy Zepeda
Heir Apparent by Vivian Vande Velde
Heir Apparent is one of the best books I have read in a long time. Giannine (I think that's how you spell her name) receives a $50.00 gift certificate for Rasmussen Gaming Centers from her father for her birthday. She chooses to play a "total immersion" video game. This means that she will feel, hear, taste, smell, and see everything that happens to her in the game. But, partway through, something happens in the outside world, making it impossible to un-hook Giannine from the game. Now every move she makes in the game decides whether she lives... or dies...

By The Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead by Julie Anne Peters
A moving novel that made me think. The main character is a suicidal teen who has attempted to take her life on multiple occasions and throughout the novel is going through the process of tying up all the loose strings in her life before she attempts suicide again with the help of an online community. Her outlook on life is explained through memories of her childhood and the pain she has suffered at the hands of others. She meets Santana, a boy who asks her to question her outlook on whether it is better to end it all or grasp this life she has been given with two hands and run with it. From start to finish I couldn’t put this book down. I felt myself right there with Daelyn, hoping with her, sharing her pain, and wishing I could hug her.
Maggie
Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore
This book was absolutely amazing! The book seemed realistic while still being fantasy and Sapphire's character was my favorite by far. The whole book worked together and a lot of the twists were super surprising. I would recommend this book to everyone.
Sophia Bond
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
Simply fabulous! This is the first book in the series, but in order to fall in love like I did you should read all of them!
Ashini Dissanayake
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
This book introduced me to Cassandra Clare’s writing and I have been a huge fan ever since. She has a way of writing that draws you in from the start; it’s beautiful, hilarious and emotional all at once. I am always shaken up after reading any of her books, and City of Bones was no exception. The plot may not be unique, but the world Cassandra created absolutely is. I have never read anything like it before. The characters touched my heart, the plot drew me in, the writing left me in an emotional wreck. Cassandra Clare created a spectacular book that touched on all elements of the perfect novel, and completely surpassed my expectations. This is a fantastic read. I would recommend it to everyone no matter what age, gender or genre preference.
Nancy Gallagher

Awesome book! Very suspenseful. Main character is such a superhero! Hope there are some sequels!
Folashade Kehinde
The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore
A Sequel to I Am Number Four and The Power of Six.
Kyla Scanlon
The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
I found Mr. Riordan's book quite intriguing. A previous fan of his Percy Jackson series, I was quite excited when I came upon this novel in the secondhand bookstore. From the very first page, the story captured me. The topic was about Egyptian gods and goddesses, something I did not know much about. The story begins with Carter and his Egyptologist father, and explains the back story between the Kane family; how Sadie, Carter's sister, lives separate from Carter and his dad. The novel starts on the day they go and visit Sadie on visiting day. The father takes them to a museum, and that's where everything begins to happen. A few spoilers: The Rosetta Stone bursts and gods and goddesses are released. Riordan did fantastic with this book.

Forget You by Jennifer Echols
It was a great story with great characters and descriptions ... I loved it!
Diana Yang
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
This book stole my breath, I couldn't but it down. It's a very vivid reading experience and totally out of my usual genre of books but it was refreshing to read something different and original. The sequel is also great but it wasn't needed to make this book better. I will always recommend this book to all my friends it is my top choice and I normally do not reread books but if i have the time to I would snuggle up in my bed and spend the whole day immersed in this wonderful eye opening tale.
Chelsea Eugene
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
Second Chance Summer is set, perceptibly, in the summer. As much as you would like to take this to the beach because it has the summery vibe, the romance and the inevitable drama, I would suggest otherwise. The book's description sets it up as a cliche teen novel about cliche teen things. What you learn while diving into the main character's life is that she is learning what it means to be a real family all the while dealing with the tragic news of her father's illness. The character's develop realistically and flawlessly and although there are some truly heart breaking scenes, it makes for a great novel that will leave you both refreshed and wanting to make changes in your own life.
Christine Schmor
Blood Red Road by Moira Young
This is a terrific dystopian read. As the protagonist, Saba, embarks on a dangerous quest to rescue her brother, she discovers attributes she never realized she possessed: resilience, bravery, kindness, selflessness. Written from Saba's point of view, the author uses dialect to give the characters authenticity and uses simple yet vivid description to create a realistic, atmospheric setting. A mix of humor, romance, and suspenseful adventure takes the reader on a satisfying ride.
Piaget Felix
Keep Holding On by Susane Colasanti
I get bullied a lot at school because I'm different. The character in this book relates to me and it's easier to live with it when I know someone else feels how I do.
Devont Felix
The Year of the Bomb by Ronald Kidd
I really like science-fiction novels. And this one is my absolute favorite book in that category. Aliens and bombs are my type of thing.
Sydney douglas
Once and Future King by T. H. White
A classic book that isn't usually in today's classroom curriculum, which is usually composed on Shakespearean plays or 20 century dystopian novels. But is an excellent read, full comedy, complex detailing and an intriguing twist an the end.
Amanda
Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
Cute book. It was a little slow all the way through, but still a nice story. There were several passages near the end that I loved, and which really showed off Gabrielle Zevin's talent. If more of the book had been written like that, it definitely would have gotten a higher rating from me. Still, I can't wait to read more of Zevin's books. Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac was great, so I'm going to assume that All These Things We've Done will be amazing.

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong
Great Book!

The Dark and Hollow Places: A Forest of Hands and Teeth Novel by Carrie Ryan
The final book in Carrie Ryan's The Forest of Hands and Teeth Trilogy was by far my favorite one. She once again gives us a beautifully heartbreaking novel full of romance, disaster and -- yes, zombies. I won't give anything away, but I will say that if you'd like a cutesy summer read, this is not it. The Dark and Hollow Places puts you in the worn-down shoes of a girl who's trying to find out who she is, find her twin sister that she left in the Forest over ten years ago and deal with being in the middle of a love triangle -- all while still trying to survive. And with the Unconsecrated threatening to break down the Dark City's walls any second, what else could she do?

Saving June by Hannah Harrington
I'm just kinda ambivalent about this book. It was thoughtful, but semi-depressing. Interesting, but monotonous. The main character was unique, but annoying at times.
One thing I really liked about this one is the music. One of the main characters, Jake, is a huge music guy and so there's many references to songs in Saving June that I can't wait to listen to, and others that are already favorites. Plus, there are some handy playlists at the book of the book as well. Also, Hannah Harrington is definitely a good author. I may not have absolutely loved this book, but I'll definitely be watching out for her next book.
Vicky
Gone by Michael Grant
This book is excellent! It is about how kids under the age of 15 have to survive by themselves when all adults disappear or "poof" as they like to call it. It has drama, romance and adventure all included and though breaking it up to different peoples stories of what they were doing, it all makes perfect sense.
I would and will definitely recommend this to anyone over the age of 12 as it does have some violence in it but come up on the bright side at the end.
Gone is a series of book which include: Gone, Hunger, Lies, Plague, Fear and Light. Although Light will not be released until 2013.

When the Wind Blows by James Patterson
James Patterson's book When the Wind Blows caught my attention by the first two sentences, and the name Max. Each chapter led me to believe that this book is the starter of the Maximum Ride series. I loved that the author had me turning page after page of the book stripping each sentence. Never before had I read an adult fiction that just sucked me right into this adrenaline-infused continuous page turner. It made the impression that I was Max reliving my life in her place. I experienced fear, hope, and nonstop adventure from the first sentence to the last word of the book. I share this book in high hopes that someone will read it with the same enthusiasm, as I will read the sequel The Lake House.

Uglies by Scott Westerfield
I recommend Scott Westerfield's book Uglies, because when you are reading the story you get that bone deep chill of suspense and excitement! You never are able to put the book down, because you don't think you are reading a book anymore, you were sucked into the amazing world that Scott Westerfield has created, you get sucked into the world that has been crumbled and people have been manipulated into thinking anyone that looks normal is ugly. I think that Scott Westerfield's book teach can us how lucky we are to have such an amazing world, once you read this book you will know what I am talking about. This book taught me that I can be as free as I want and to not let someone come in between you and a friend. Lastly, this book is AMAZING!!

The Emerald Atlas by John Stephens
Very intriguing, action packed mystery! Great read.

I loved the plot of this book. Full of twists and a very creative take on an important issue!

Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis
Prince of Wolves is one of the funnest and cutest books I have read. It has a mix of every thing and I just hope others will love it as much as I do.
Harleen Kaur
Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer by John Grisham
Theo was an interesting character and really fit in with the murder mystery. I was kind of forced to read this book, but I don't regret reading this book because it was really good. Although, I do not think it is good enough to be a 5 star book. I actually want to read the next book.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore
If i could I would rate it more than just Five out of Five! this book is really a one of a kind, I have never read a book like it before. The author really didn't play by the rules! I'm currently going through my third read on this book in a two week period!!!
My New Favorite book!
Mera
7 Souls by Barnabas Miller and Jordan Orlando
I really recommend this book to any teens that love the illusion of the truth. In some points of the book, it is written to confuse you but that's what makes you want to read it more. It also has other genres included like romance, mystery etc. As you read more you get to read different characters perspectives which helps you solve the over all mystery. In a way you are the detective who solves the mystery.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
It was a really good book with a good message and it's great for teens. It really shows how much we affect people, and how we impact on lives. Suicide is a big issue and although people shy away from the topic, it's good to understand how it happens. This book opens you're mind to a bigger image. I did find the book a little confusing, trying to remember the thirteen reasons though. Overall it was a very good book taking on a very big issue.

Starters by Lissa Price
Starters is a great and unique book unlike anything I have read before. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different. Ever since the spore wars, when everyone between the ages of 20 and 60 died, Callie and her little brother Tyler have been on the run. To get money and help them survive, Callie leaves Tyler with Michael, a fellow adolescent, and travels to Prime Destinations. At Prime Destinations, teens are hired to rent their bodies to Elders for a short amount of time. On one of Callie's rentals, something goes terribly wrong and she gets caught up in an Elder's secret plan.

Spark by Amy Kathleen Ryan
Pretty exciting for a mid-trilogy book, would recommend!

Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles is the classic tale of two star-crossed lovers. You might think it's overrated or cliche but Elkeles portrays the story in a way that makes you fall in love with the characters and storyline. Brittney Ellis is rich, beautiful, and popular senior who's life seems more than perfect. Alex Fuentes, on the other hand, is a handsome yet poor senior who's in the Latino Blood gang in Chicago. When the two are paired up as chemistry partners, they start to realize that they have strikingly similar lives. It is one of my favorite books.
Mason Mohney
Calico Joe by John Grisham
I love baseball and the Cubs are my favorite team so this book caught me interest. I am just getting started and cannot wait to get to the next chapter of this book.

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
Todd Hewitt lives in a world where everyone can here each others thoughts. The people in Prentisstown call this the noise. So one day Todd and his dog Manchee are out getting apples when he stumbles into a patch of silence. When he discovers this silence Todd is forced to leave Prentisstown. There are secrets hidden away from him. The world he thought he lived in might not even be all what it seems to be. Todd Finds himself running for his life cause he found something he wasn't supposed to. This book was amazing. It reminded me of the Maze Runner. The plot was very fast paced. I loved how Patrick Ness developed the characters, I found them completely amazing. The writing style, confused me but once I started understanding it I loved it.
Fiona
The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams
While reading the book, I had no idea what it was about, so I was very shocked when I realized. I never would've expected to like a book about polygamists. The book was beautifully written with so much personality and Kyra is such a bright young girl. I was literally yelling as I was reading the book, "Go Kyra! You can do it!" It is such a great book.
Samantha Leal
Blood Ninja by Nick Lake
This book has a good possibility of what the ninja were. Vampires and ninja in one! Not only does this have ninjas but it also takes place in Japan were the Samurai and Dimo were around. The characters in this book have their own unique role in this book. An unlikely event makes you want to get the sequel.
Jenelle Riane
Before I Wake by Rachel Vincent
I absolutely loved every single moment of it, and it transported me to a whole different world. Everything flowed so smoothly, and the way it was written utterly gripped me. The romance was just so unbelievably sweet as well! The plot, in a word? Brilliant. The best so far in the Soul Screamers series.
Akanksha gupta
The Immortals of Meluha by Amish Tripathi
This book is an amazing work by an Indian author about how a simple human becomes a God. What I liked the most about this book was the simplicity with which the mythological concepts are presented. They seem so believable! I also liked the characters very much- each very different from the others and having a strong personality. I have never read a mythological fiction so much. You will fell in love with Shiva ( the protagonist) , his presence of mind, honesty and leadership qualities. I have read the first and second book in the trilogy. The third is yet to come.
Syrena Holcomb
The Last Dragonlord by Joanne Bertin
I enjoyed it very much. Joanne Bertin is a really good writer who's books are extremely readable, with good descriptions, good characters, and really sneaky people for villains. This book plays on a lot of your emotions. Me I have read in many times.

Raised by Wolves: Trial by Fire by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
In this sequel to Raised by Wolves Bryn is adjusting to her new role as alpha. Along with this, a foreign wolf names Lucas comes onto her territory bringing multiple issues with him. Lucas arrives on the doorstep barely alive appearing to have been very beat and abused. Bryn finds out that Shay (Bryn's enemy) is his alpha and to make everything worse not only is he after Lucas but a group of mysterious humans are too. In my opinion this book was great and unpredictable. Reading along as Bryn tried to find a way to keep her pack and Lucas safe was a great journey. The only issues with it I had was that the main fight scene was a little confusing and was too short and perfect and there was poor character development with some characters.
Julia
A Long Walk To Water by Linda Sue Park
It will really put things into persective.
Tiffany
Princess on the Brink by Meg Cabot
This is a good book, and the characters are funny and endearing, but I am slightly annoyed that the main character, Mia, overreacts to many situations. I give this 4 out of 5 stars because, though I'm not 100% satisfied with the narrator (Mia), the plot is pretty good, and it's a witty story.
Elizabeth Liu
The Host by Stephanie Meyer
A great story that has many elements that a lot of readers are looking for-- science fiction, romance, and adventure. The Host beats out the Twilight series for sure. This novel has my personal favorite male character-- Ian O'Shea. This is one book you wish you could read in one sitting!
Emily Lopez
Ash by Malinda Lo
A riveting twist on the classic 'Cinderella' story. I was glued to the book the moment I got home, and I never once thought to put it down. Finishing the book in one sitting, I was left feeling a plethora of emotions, but the most evident of them all was the sheer excitement and disbelief of what I had actually picked up at the book store that day. I was completely unaware until the very end, and I have yet to find another similar or to its likeness.

Fallen by Lauren Kate
4/5 stars. Such a lovely plot line about forbidden/cursed love! How the characters are fantastically written and described and brought to life you quickly fall in love!
Millicent Albarran
1-800-Where-R-You series by Meg Cabot
This series follows Jess Mastriani, an ordinary high school girl who gets struck by lightening and finds she has the ability to find missing people. I love Jess because she's tough and doesn't take crap from anyone. She just wants to get the people, or in most cases kids, found without the FBI pestering her about helping them find criminals and terrorists instead. I also love the transaction in Jess from tough no-nonsense to traumatized and not caring when she can't find people anymore due to nightmares. And of course, there's a love interest that stays constant through all five books, Rob. He helps Jess with all her crazy and troublesome plans and never lets her down. I never mind a little romance!
Shawntanik Williams
Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick
I will recommend this book to any teen who is looking for a great adventure book. There are two boys in this book, Max (Freak) a really slow learner that is a big giant teenager and Kevin the disable but very smart. This book was really touching and inspiring. At the end of, this book brought me to tears. This book teaches a lesson, which is don't judge someone on how they look. Freak and Max has develop friendship after seeing each other again. I will totally recommend to anyone, teens, children, and even teachers to read as a class book!

HEAVENLY HELL - Hindered Happiness by T.K.Trayle
“HEAVENLY HELL – Hindered Happiness” is an intriguing and extraordinary teenage love story set amongst the backdrops of a Toronto high school and cottages in Muskoka. On the surface, Angelica and Devan are typical teenagers. She loves shopping, playing the violin, and volunteering. He loves cooking, playing the guitar, and getting into mischief. When they first meet, Angelica and Devan can’t stand to be near each other, but as time rolls on, their love blossoms and they become inseparable. How can it even be possible for them to fall in love?
Angelica Viscito
Divergent by Veronica Roth
This is one of my all-time favorite books. The main character, Beatrice must make a decision that will define the rest of her life. This book is filled with humor, action and suspense. It kept me hooked and that's saying something.

Stay by Deb Caletti
I'm kind of upset at how slow this book is... Caletti has kind of let me down :/
This book is about a girl who has joined her single father, who is an author, in moving to a small island town. They have left their life in the city because of a dangerously possessive ex-boyfriend.
Abby
Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer
This book, about a girl who disguises herself as a boy to become a ships boy in 17th century England had a good plot line, however it was a female character book written by a male author. This resulted in a very weepy, girly, boy-focused girl character, with little character development and not as much girl-power as the plot would suggest. overall was very stereotypical of how a girl was supposed to act in the 17th century, and the character did not become stronger or changed very much by the end of the book. I would not read the sequel.

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
I enjoyed the novel Hush, hush by Becca Fitzpatrick because of how it gripped me at the very first chapter. At first, I admit, I was skeptical after reading what it was about, but after reading its praises and my friends saying that it was worth it, I gave it a try - and I didn't regret it one bit. This book had me flipping page after page through the wee hours of the night, and even during a dinner party when there really was not anything going on. By the time I was done the book(the next day), I was craving for the next installment.
Hassan Mohamoud
Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon
This book is a novel filled with loving characters, that are funny and sarcastic.
Monica
The Tale Of Edgar Trunk by Jason Silva
Its a great good for teen and perfect for the Halloween season.
Brandon Matos
Keeper by Mal Peet
This book is full of imagination while at the same time it discusses things that you can make a connection with, especially if you play sports. It sends a message about not quitting and giving it all you've got to succeed in anything you are trying to accomplish in your world. I was able to connect to this book because I am a soccer player as well as a swimmer. Many times I feel like I want to give up because both sports require a lot of practice. On many occasions I have told my mom that I am not swimming the next season but then I push myself and end up lowering my times at different meets. As far as soccer, I truly love it. We have been champions and co-champions for the past three years and that continues to motivate me even more.
Alexus Upton
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
When I first picked this book up for my summer reading assignment I decided to hate it. I was so WRONG. It's not what I usually read (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Maximum Ride, The Mortal Instruments, I Am Number Four, and books like that) but I don't regret it at all. I recommend it to everyone because your teachers will make you read it anyway, might as well beat 'em to the punch.
Nathan Siegel
The Diviners by Libba Bray
I absolutely loved the ARC I received of The Diviners! Libba Bray is one of my favorite authors and I loved the suspense, supernatural elements, and romance of her new book!
Devera Chandler
Shine by Lauren Myracle
This is an amazing story of friends gone by, but still having a fierce loyalty to each other. A story of an horrific beating, newspaper headlines, and dark secrets.
Laura Schlueter
Oz: Zombie Slayer by JP Marduk
Loved it. Funny and scary. Only thing I'm not sure about is the fact that its a multi-part story so I'll have to keep my eye out for the rest. Can't wait for the next installment.
Esther Chai
Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover by Ally Carter
I have given this book four out of five star because of details that I found lacking. There are a lot of descriptions that I reread and is unable to fully acknowledge. For instance, during the shooting scene of the novel it was unclear of who gotten hurt and what what happen to each of the individual characters. Overall it was a decent book that is fun read over the summers.
Lisa Lin
Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow
I really love this book because of the suspense the author puts into it, and the details. Also the author give flashbacks to show why Dru is acting the way she is. The action ever-other page and just because Dru is just a bad ass girl makes me just love this awesome book.
Naorin Hossain
The Bridge by Jane Higgins
I loved this book because it had such an interesting plot line set in a fascinating dystopian society. I would definitely recommend it to fans of books set in dystopian societies such as in The Hunger Games and Uglies.

A rare find is a book that can be both beautifully heart touching and hilariously funny.
Wendy Wunder uses a clever writing style to create interesting characters and a twisting, if a little predictable, plot.

Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Loved it! I finally understand all the hype surrounding it. One of my favorite thing was the way the book was written, this styles allows you to feel as if Charlie is writing these letters for you which I think was definitely a nice touch.
The characters are very relatable I guarantee that you will be able to find at least one character in this book that you can relate to. I love Charlie because you get to experience what it was like for him to go from a child to a young adult. This is obviously a coming of age novel but what sets it apart is the humor and the raw emotion. Also may I add that this is probably one of the most quotable books I have ever read.

The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper
If you saw the movie... forget it! The book is much better.
I liked this book because it is full of magic, mystery, bravery, and ever-present danger. It will keep you on your toes!

Explosive elemental magical action to a simmering romance on the back burner it a series that shouldn't be missed!

This is a quick summer read that is so sweet. I loved it because it made me feel like I was at Cousins beach with Belly and the boys.
