CNeill
LOVING FRANK, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, and A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS.

Lorna Lafond
I will try to read more this year then I have lately.

Sue, Saratoga
If I'm not emotionally or intellectually invested in a book by page 100, I won't feel obligated to finish it.

Kathryn McNamara
To review the books I read since this is how I find my great reads.

Jody Berman
To write down all of the books I read and give them a 1-10 star rating. This way when someone asks for a recommendation I can refer to this, instead of my memory which typically goes blank!

Swan Bender
To continue to enjoy my reading and find new authors.

Kay Stewart
To read from my own shelves this year. I'm overflowing with books that I just "had to have" and then they got pushed aside for the next "had to have" title. I don't advocate my resolution for everyone. I know that publishers and authors need us to keep buying. However, it's a personal challenge and will result in my being better organized and thrifty for 2009. But, look out next year!!

Sue W.
I would really like to read more of a variety of books this year. I tend to read too many mysteries, which I guess isn't all bad. But I would like to branch out. Now that I have joined Bookreporter I have already found a number of different books that interest me.

Lana E. Mason
To read more non-fiction.

Billie McHam
To read more and more, since I now have my cataracts removed.

Jennifer
My resolution for 2009 is to read my book recommendations for my 3 book clubs prior to introducing them. In the past, this has not always been the case and has backfired on me a few times!

MJB

I plan to read 10 books I already own for every 1 book I purchase in 2009! If I can live up to this, it will be a miracle! Sorry amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Borders.

To read, read, read. Reading is my favorite pastime. I cannot imagine my life without a book in hand. I will always make time in my day to read. That is one resolution I know that I will NOT break in 2009!

Carroll Savage
To read all the books on my bedside table before buying more.

Sandra Hughes
To update all my lists (books I've read, books to read, books to buy, MUST read books) more often!

Kathy Vieira
There are so many times that I hold off on reading a book for my discussion group until the week before the meeting and there have been a few times that things have come up and I've not been able to finish the book. So, with that in mind, my reading resolution is to try and start my discussion group books earlier in the month so I'll always be done and prepared before the meeting.

Carol N.
To give myself more time to read.

Bayla Schwartz
To keep reading my favorite authors, which now total 70. I love to read all the bestsellers and hope I can still afford to buy them with the current economic situation. I also set an example for my 8-year-old granddaughter who also has learned the love of reading. She has been asked to join the Masters of Reading at her school.

Pam S.
To be more open-minded about the genres available. I tend toward only a few types of writers and want to branch out.

Brenda Broadway
I love to read, and often get so involved in the book that lately I had forgotten to start supper, a lot... So, I have to resolve to set the alarm clock to remember to start supper for my family on time this year! Then instead of ordering out so much... I can buy some more books!

Spend more time reading books that are already on my book shelves, get a Kindle asap, and read book club selections before the week of book club to avoid cramming.

Kay Weiser
Last year I read 127 books. This year, I'd like to break my own record.

To read as many of my books I have in my own collection, in order to donate them. I cannot move again with all the books I have. My husband has to do all the carrying and he says, "NOT AGAIN"!!

Nan
Expand my genre selections.

Robert E. Runyon
Of the 89 books I have on my "I am interested in reading from 2008" list, to be a little more selective in my choices. I just can't read them all --- costs have become a more limiting factor, especially in hardcover. I want to reevaluate my choices and decide who is a hard cover choice and who goes to paperback, or just falls off the list.

Marsha Moore
Make more quiet time for myself so I can catch up on my reading.

Eileen
I intend to talk more about the books I've read not only in book club but also in other conversations. Books transport a person to another level. All of us need that transport once in a while.

Irish
My resolution is to read one book from my shelves for every one bought or borrowed library book that comes into my house.

Robert E. Brown, Sr.
To read more books than any other year. With the economy in bad shape and the fact that I am retired with a fixed income, I have been relying on my local library lately. Kaye DeMaio-Hays
I want to expand my horizons by reading books by authors I have not read before.

This is a resolution from last year --- I hope to seriously go through my library and select books to donate to Friends of the Library. I have done this in the past, but not often enough.

Geri D.
As a children's librarian I read all the time. However, for 2009, I am going to keep track of the books read in a notebook. Also, I am going to treat myself to reading some adult books on a regular basis. I am into animal behavior books this year, it seems.

Try and read some of the classics.

Read books from all catagories, not just bestsellers.

Margie Akers
Getting my new husband interested in my favorite pasttime --- reading --- by introducing him to good books.

Melody
To read 52 or more books for the year.

Judy Dils
To use the library more and buy fewer books --- not what you want to hear :)

To actually start going through the huge reading list I've compiled over the last couple years.

Germany
To read 100 books in 2009.
