What's your favorite author website? What do you like on it?

David Baldacci

My favorite author website is Thomas Harris's. The graphics and the way the website moves is very impressive.

Dot from Lock Haven, PA
My favorite website in Jan Karon's. She is so down to earth. Her books are not sophisticated or over your head --- all the characters are like the neighbor next door or your best friend.

According to her site, she has some new books coming out in 2006 and I'm looking forward to reading about their plots.

JudeJustJude@aol.com
My favorite author website is Janet Evanovich's.

She tells readers where she has traveled to promote books, has monthly contests, and asks for input from the readers. She invites her readers to participate in a contest to name her next book. Each month is something new, and if you do not have an e-mail address, she will mail it all to you in a pamphlet.

My favourite web site is Lisa Gardner's as it looks great and has plenty of contests for fans to win a novel of Lisa's; also, you can put yourself or a friend into the other contest she has called KILL A FRIEND, MAIM A BUDDY! Lisa's website keeps you up to date on all her news, when new novels are coming out, and on other mystery writers like herself. You may want to call up on the web and have a look at it.

Lisa has her newsletters she sends out when there is something happening at her site, like contests or some of her own news she wants her fans to read, so Lisa gets my vote!

I actually have two websites that I read continually. One is Jan Karon's Mitford Grapevine website and the other is Ann B. Ross'sMiss Julia series. Ann B. Ross is extremely friendly in her messages to her readers and one truly feels she is a friend who genuinely cares about each and every reader. I love them both.

GollumGCRCP90@aol.com
Lemony Snicket --- I love how they have all of the listed titles of his books, new information on upcoming books, games, random other things, and whatever else they put on there.

jscady@efieldguide.com
My favorite author website is www.stabenow.com, Dana Stabenow's site. Besides the usual info about new books, excerpts and tours, she has links to Danamaniacs --- her fan club website that has webchats, links to Alaska news and travel. Right now she has links to the volcano erupting near her. She writes for an Alaskan magazine and links to that. I especially enjoyed her link to a cybercast of her at the National Book Awards, 2004. She is a generous author.

Sharron from Norcross
Favorite author website: Jodipicoult.com
She has info on all her books --- past and upcoming --- interviews, personal information, and appearances. She also answers your e-mail questions! She is one of the most fascinating, prolific writers of our time. Her research and stories are all different and captivating.

I tried out several authors' book sites. They seemed to be nothing more than whining, me, me, me and puffery --- so I never, ever visit any websites of authors. The sites seem to be like the TV Guide --- useless.

dwellman2@cox.net
Alan Dean Foster's website: He has a "futuristic clock," which is intriguing and links to some good bookseller sites along with the clock site.

Nunu in Niagara
I cannot just name one author as my favourite. I read so many different books and I enjoy browsing all the book/author web sites to read about the authors and when their next books are coming out. A lot of them offer contests too for free copies of their books, which is a bonus.

Bookmark60@sc.rr.com
I like Chris Bohjalian. I like his website because he gives the background information on all the books he has written. He also has a discussion board, a section with some of his articles, as well as interviews and bio information.

maithe007@bellsouth.net
My favorite author website would have to be Maggie Shayne's. You can find information not only about her books, but also about the author, which changes as the author changes throughout the year. You get some very nice insight into her real world.

Karen from Garner, NC
My favorite author website is Eloisa James's. She has a Reader's Pages section, exclusive to those who register, which requires a user name and password. Among the many features, readers can take part in online discussions about her books as well as those of other authors. Contests are limited to those who are registered.

Annabelle973@aol.com
My favorite author website is that of Philippa Gregory. She is very welcoming and friendly, and her website has tons of information, with photographs and info about her tours and much more.

JesKinTurk@aol.com
Lisa Scottoline's website is best, but I liked it better when she had her web cam.

SHBueche@aol.com
My favorite author website is www.annrules.com. Ann Rule is the writer among true crime devotees, and her website updates fans with news of any cases she is working on, as well as updates on her previous books. She even has items about book signings; I was fortunate to be among the throngs of fans to see her in San Antonio, Texas.

janbay37@verizon.net
At the moment, I like Quentin Jardine's site. He writes on it himself and answers questions directed to him. I also like that he lists his books in the order in which they were written --- very helpful for someone who is obsessive about reading authors' books in order.

spiralskygilligan@gmail.com
I love Jodi Picoult's website --- it is nice, clean and fresh. The site contains a lot of information and is set up just right so you are not overwhelmed. There are nicely sized pictures and enough of the books' synopses to make you run out and buy the book.

Donalenesp@hotmail.com
I have a hard time deciding between Debbie Macomber andEarlene Fowler. Each has an excellent website full of information. Their newsletters are also excellent. I look forward to each. For me, this is a dead heat between these two!

jennygirlmason@yahoo.com
First, I must say that I love Bookreporter.com. Being an avid reader of fiction, I read every word on your site!

johnecother.com is my author's website of choice. I recently finished Fear of Spidersby John Cotherand it has been my favorite book for many, many months.

What really surprised me is I emailed Mr. Cother through his website with lots of questions about his book --- and I do mean lots. He not only answered me, but he answered each question in detail. I was floored but thrilled.

His web site is "homey," and you do indeed feel right at home there. Right now my two favorite websites are his and yours!

www.lawrenceblock.com
Just because it carries through with his sense of humor. A real "mystery" website!

Stargrl520@aol.com
I absolutely love J.K. Rowling's site. Not only is there interesting information relating to the books (including the very anticipated book seven), but it also has an attractive layout, interactive features, and has all the charm that makes the Harry Potter books so great. Anyone who has a bit of spare time and enjoys Rowling's writing should definitely visit.
