mxwms@msn.com
Definitely The Taking by Dean Koontz!
BooksDoral@aol.com
I have read The Da Vinci Code and it was a terrific story. It definitely had a "hook" at the very beginning and I wanted to read it from beginning to end. The details included about history and locations are part of what made it a great book. Just like The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, they write so well that you start to believe and have to remind yourself that this is fiction.
I am currently reading Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. It too is a thriller and is very, very good. Sorry I missed out on this writer for so long --- he certainly knows how to tell a good story!
I HAVE DISCOVERED BOOKS ON CD and have just listened toBlessings by Anna Quindlen on CD, which by the way had a surprise ending. However, I did rent it from my local Library because CD books are way too expensive, a lot more than a hardcover. The only problem is that they have very few books on CD. This "new" media has allowed me to read/listen to books while I am driving, hands free, which is great because I am finally making good use of this time. I am so happy to have found books on CD.
I also have read or listened to two other books and am currently listening to another, all on CD. Another very important point is that you don't have to worry about leaving cassettes in a hot car.
Of course I collect hardcover books, although I am considering collecting books on CD as well.
Pat76273@aol.com
The next book I plan to purchase is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, just published in the U.S. It sounds like it'll be an exciting book and it's already been a bestseller in Spain where the author is from and in Germany and other parts of Europe. It's a bibliomystery, just the thing bibliophiles love.
