What is your reading resolution this year?

NessaBelle87@aol.com
I would like to read all of the Harry Potter Books and purchase them.

Showshana@aol.com
To stop reading the same authors all the time --- to use your lists and reader suggestions to expand my reading choices.

JJMMcCann@aol.com
My book resolution is to TRY to resist the temptation to buy more books before I've read at least one book from my HUGE TBR (to be read) pile! I have quite a backlog of books I've bought that I want to read, and I keep buying more!  So I'm going to try to catch up on some of the ones I bought quite a
while ago and still haven't read yet.

bluhrig@inct.net
To read anything that interests me and to try to check out more books from the library. I may have to be restrained whenever we drive by Half Price Books!

Shell725@aol.com
As for my reading resolutions for 2001...I started a "library" list on my computer of books I own, which is now around 300 or so. There are about 200 on the "to be read"  pile, yet I still buy more! I would like to be able to read a book a week, but I'd settle for reading two a month. I'm a slow reader, but I think that if an author puts his or her heart and soul into their work, then a good book should not be rushed, but enjoyed.

PNormart@aol.com
In 2001 I plan to read at least 4 or 5 classic fiction books -- i.e., ones I might have read in high school but didn't. Currently in my "to be read" pile are titles like OLIVER TWIST, "LORD OF THE FLIES, ANIMAL FARM, and "THE JUNGLE. This is a resolution I'm really looking forward to keeping!

JFConnell@aol.com
My resolution is to spend more time reading and less time surfing the net.

VALAITISH@aol.com
My resolution is to read a book a week and to read the Bible from cover to cover.

EvieD@aol.com
To concentrate on the library more often for my books. My obsession is owning books and I have to fight this in myself. Love the feeling of owning a book!

KBWOW@aol.com
I plan to read more biographies and autobiographies about women artists (painters, writers, dancers, etc.)

Jdils@aol.com
I numbered all of my tbr (to be read) books, and will draw a number out of a hat for every other read this year. Hopefully, I can clear the shelf of some of these (284) books I've bought in the past.

DThomas201@aol.com
To read as many books as I did last year and to expand my list of favorite authors by at least one new name.

JMath2244@aol.com
To find more time to read.

CADeck97@aol.com
Hi! My resolutions include: reading whatever suits me (any genre) anywhere I find the material; to finish reading at least 30 novels or new nonfiction; to read over 80% of the bookreporter.com reviews and not just file them away!
Reading/learning is lifelong.

lyn1256@execpc.com
This year I intend to make every other book I read a nonfiction book. I also resolve to read as many of Andrea Dworkin's works as I can get my hands on.

MTigeress@aol.com
To make time for reading a book each week!

Meenmomx3@aol.com
I resolve to read more of the huge pile of TBR's I have!

DOT487959@aol.com
I'm trying to read at least 2 books a week but in between I vowed to read one of my medical journals...I tend to read for entertainment and get behind in my medical updates...I'll be using my books as a reward for staying up to
date.

AngelOnEarth29@aol.com
I'm gonna read all the books I can for the new year. I wanna learn more!

darend@erols.com
To read at least 50 books --- maybe 100

gcarter01@sprynet.com
My reading resolution for this year is to be able to read my OWN novel at the end of 2001! So I'm continuing to work where I left off months ago with new resolve while still continuing to review others' novels.

Emkbee@aol.com
Hi! My reading resolution is to vary my literary diet and not exist on the same diet of quick read suspense. I still love them but need to stretch my mind and soul. I just began IMAGINE edited by Marianne Williamson and subtitled, What America could be in the 21st Century--Visions of a Better Future from Leading American Thinkers such as Ed Ayres, Caroline Myss, Deepac
Chopra, James Redfield, Sarah Ben Breathnach, and others. Very thought provoking.

PELLIOTT4@aol.com
Last year I resolved to keep a books read journal. I successfully kept that resolution. I'm resolving to do the same this year. Only I am adding the date it was finished and an up arrow for a book I liked and would recommend. Hey, I like to start small...

MoM3g2b@aol.com
O please let me carry this resolution through to completion: I hereby declare to journal all books read with chief characters and plot. There I said it...wish me luck.

NGroves@aol.com
I will try to read a balanced selection of books. Since I have a strong preference for literary fiction and mysteries, I read too little nonfiction, science fiction, and anything else outside of these categories. I know I'm missing some good stuff, so I need to break out of my mold. I also want to read some classics, such as MIDDLEMARCH and VANITY FAIR, tackle some books
that come in a series, such as Dorothy Dunnett's "Niccolo" saga, and finally, not be too impatient waiting for the next Harry Potter book.

BigBeagle2000@email.msn.com
I have two reading resolutions this year. First, for every book I buy, I have to read two that I already own. Second, I will read more classics.

CBAST@aol.com
My resolution is to read at least one book of FICTION each month. I tend to read nonfiction and I've only recently rediscovered reading for the pleasure of reading (versus learning something).

Mmsbook1@aol.com
I just retired on Halloween. Been busy (as everyone else has) with holiday preparations. Have thousands of books (bookshelves in every room and more stacked up waiting for new bookshelf) (been reading and collecting all of my life, still have my Curlytops and Nancy Drew books) of which I have read (and some re-read) about half. My New Year's resolution is to turn off the TV, stay off of the computer more and READ, READ, READ. As my favorite sweatshirt says "SO MANY BOOKS, SO LITTLE TIME". Thanks.

JSEK7@aol.com
Not to buy any more Tom Clancy or John Grisham novels.

PEGINSC@aol.com
My own book! Except that I like it so much, I can't seem to finish it. (Just kidding) My editor, (I like it so much I can't change the words) must have given me up, so I beg you, Kathy, please, if I don't give up, don't you give
I start but never finish. My mother bought them, and I should read them.

DDobrjansk@aol.com
I will not read only one genre (i.e., Tom Clancy, etc.) I will try to read some classics like Hemingway, Fitzgerald and others.

JwReform@aol.com
To read at least one book per week in 2001.

pnichols@woodruffelectric.com
Read the New Testament through; also, hopefully, THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV (Dostoyevsky); DAUGHTER OF FORTUNE (Isabel Allende); PRODIGAL SUMMER (Barbara Kingsolver); A COMMON LIFE: The Wedding Story (Jan Karon); The BONESETTER'S DAUGHTER (Amy Tan); and BLIND ASSASSIN (Margaret Atwood).

Halobear1@aol.com
My resolution this year is to read all the books in my To Be Read pile before I buy anymore. This will not be an easy task...considering that I LOVE to buy books. Wish me luck.
