End-of-the-Year Contest 2019

We are thrilled to announce a very special contest featuring Carol Fitzgerald’s Bookreporter.com Bets On picks from 2019. One Grand Prize winner will be awarded all 52 books, while 13 other winners will receive a selection of four of these titles.

Winter Reading 2019

At Bookreporter.com, we kicked off 2019 with our fifth annual Winter Reading Contests and Feature. We hosted a series of 24-hour contests spotlighting a book releasing this winter (or a book publishing in the spring that we wanted to get on your radar now) and gave five lucky readers a chance to win it.

Even though our contests have wrapped up, we encourage you to take a look at this year's featured titles, as these are the books you'll want to read during the winter months --- and into the warmer ones!

Gregg Hurwitz, author of Out of the Dark: An Orphan X Novel

Someone at the very highest level of government has been trying to eliminate every trace of the Orphan Program by killing all the remaining Orphans and their trainers. After Evan Smoak's mentor and the only father he ever knew was killed, he decided to strike back. His target is the man who started the Program and who is now the most heavily guarded person in the world: the President of the United States. But President Bennett knows that Orphan X is after him, and, using weapons of his own, he's decided to counter-attack.

Out of the Dark: An Orphan X Novel by Gregg Hurwitz

February 2019

I love Gregg Hurwitz’s Orphan X series, and I think this fourth installment is his best. In OUT OF THE DARK, Evan Smoak, who is Orphan X, is in a high-stakes cat and mouse game, as the President of the United States is out to kill Orphan X, one of the recruits from an elite project that the President ran years ago. He has Orphan A on the trail to get him. They both have the skills, so this is some game.

Paperback releases for the week of November 25th include OUT OF THE DARK, the fourth installment in Gregg Hurwitz's Orphan X thriller series starring Evan Smoak; ROBERT B. PARKER’S BLOOD FEUD by Mike Lupica, which marks the return of PI Sunny Randall, who races to protect her ex-husband --- and his Mafia family --- from the vengeful plan of a mysterious rival; THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY, W.E.B. Griffin and William E. Butterworth IV's fifth Clandestine Operations novel about the birth of the CIA and the Cold War, in which special agent James Cronley Jr. finds that fighting both ex-Nazis and the Soviet NKGB can lead to strange bedfellows; and AMERICAN DIALOGUE, Joseph J. Ellis' deeply insightful examination of the relevance of the views of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and John Adams to some of the most divisive issues in America today.
