Macavity Awards 2018

The Macavity Award winners were announced at the Bouchercon 2018 Opening Ceremonies in St. Petersburg, FL on Thursday, September 6th.

The Macavity Award is named for the “mystery cat” of T.S. Eliot (OLD POSSUM'S BOOK OF PRACTICAL CATS). Each year the members of Mystery Readers International nominate and vote for their favorite mysteries in five categories.

Week of August 27, 2018

Paperback releases for the week of August 27th include Dean Koontz's THE CROOKED STAIRCASE, in which Jane Hawk (who captivated readers in THE SILENT CORNER and THE WHISPERING ROOM) faces the fight of her life, against the threat of a lifetime; ENEMY OF THE STATE by Kyle Mills, the latest installment in Vince Flynn's series starring Mitch Rapp, who finds himself alone and targeted by a country that is supposed to be one of America’s closest allies; and Tom Rinaldi's THE RED BANDANNA, which recounts the incredible story of Welles Crowther, whose actions on 9/11 offer a lasting lesson on character, calling and courage.

Anthony Awards 2018

Bouchercon, the World Mystery Convention, is pleased to announce the Anthony Award winners for 2018. The Anthony Awards are presented at each annual Bouchercon with the winners selected by attendees. The award is named for the late Anthony Boucher (William Anthony Parker White), writer and critic from the New York Times, who helped found the Mystery Writers of America.
