Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez
Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez is the nation’s first and most successful author of contemporary commercial women’s fiction featuring Latina professionals. She was named one of the nation’s 25 Most Influential Hispanics by Time magazine for innovating a profitable new genre in American publishing. A New York Times bestselling writer, Alisa has several published novels available. Her first novel, the critically acclaimed and wildly popular THE DIRTY GIRLS SOCIAL CLUB, is in development for a television series with NBC. Her seventh novel, THE THREE KINGS: A Christmas Romance, came out November 9, 2010, from St. Martin’s Press; her most traditionally Latina novel to date, it has been hailed as the funniest and most heartwarming since Dirty Girls. In 2011, HarperCollins launched Alisa's The Kindred young adult crossover series, about an insightful prep school girl who meets her unlikely soul mate in a rural young cowboy who also happens to be a revenant (ghost in human form). Alisa is in negotiations with several studios for the film rights to THE KINDRED with many in Hollywood saying the haunting romance has enormous blockbuster and box office potential. Alisa honed her writing chops as an award-winning staff writer for both The Boston Globe and The Los Angeles Times, and holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
