Eden Temple

Reviewer

My name is Eden Temple and I am a social worker who lives and reads in San Francisco. I write fiction and poetry on the side and enjoy everything to do with books. My love affair with reading began before I could talk. My earliest memories include feeling terrified and fascinated by THE BFG, staying up way past bedtime flashlight fixed on Tolkien's harrowing battles, and daydreaming about the day that I might fall down a rabbit hole like my beloved Alice.

About the Book

One midsummer night. Two strangers. Three rules: No real names. No baggage. No phones. A whirlwind twenty-four-hour romance about discovering what it means to feel alive in the face of one of life’s greatest dangers: love.

Who would you be if you had one night to be anyone you want?

Volunteering in New Orleans was supposed to be a change, an escape from the total mess Julie left at home and from her brother’s losing battle with PTSD. But building houses surrounded by her super-clingy team leader and her way-too-chipper companions has Julie feeling more trapped than ever. And she’s had enough.

In a moment of daring, Julie runs away, straight into the glitter, costumes and chaos of the Mid-Summer Mardi Gras parade --- and instantly connects with Miles, an utterly irresistible musician with a captivating smile and a complicated story of his own. And for once, Julie isn’t looking back. Together Julie and Miles decide to forget their problems and live this one night in the here and now. Wandering the night, they dance on roofs, indulge in beignets, share secrets and ghost stories under the stars, and fall in love. But when a Category Two hurricane changes course and heads straight for NOLA, their adventure takes an unexpected turn. And, suddenly, pretending everything is fine is no longer an option.

Richly evocative to the heart-racing end, EVEN IF THE SKY FALLS is a swoon-worthy debut to indulge in to the very last note.

Hello! My name is Natalia! I am currently 20-years-old and I reside in Northern New Jersey. When I am not reading or reviewing, I am either working at a family-owned boutique or traveling the world. I have a severe case of wanderlust and I am trying to see the beauty of this world we live in. Reading almost means the same to me as traveling because I truly love when a good book can take me away from every day life into a place I have never been before. Music is also extremely important to me. I listen to broad range of music including classic rock, pop, punk and heavy metal.

As an Outlander fan, I really wanted to love KC Dyer's FINDING FRASER. The concept was absolutely brilliant: Emma Sheridan --- a 29-year old woman reeling from the loss of her job and recent divorce --- travels to Scotland in order to not only find true love, but seek out her very own, real-life Jamie Fraser from the Outlander series. Unfortunately, this brilliant concept was not executed as well as I might have hoped. Just because a book is based off a series you love, there are no guarantees that the book will be your next favorite read. Read More

On the cusp of thirty, Emma Sheridan is desperately in need of a change. After a string of failed relationships, she can admit that no man has ever lived up to her idea of perfection. Her ideal man might be ripped from the pages of a book, but Emma hopes that by making one life-altering decision she might be able to turn fiction into fact. After selling all her worldly possessions, Emma takes off for Scotland with nothing but her burgeoning travel blog to confide in. But as she scours the country’s rolling green hills and crumbling castles, Emma discovers that in searching for her own Jamie Fraser, she just might find herself.
