Shopaholic to the Stars

When British spendthrift Becky Brandon's husband, Luke, accepts a position as a public relations expert for American actress Sage Seymour, it means their small family must move their lives and their household from England to Los Angeles. Needless to say, Becky is beside herself with anticipation at the prospect of living an exciting, glamorous life in star-studded L.A.

Eager to become Sage's new best friend, fill her wardrobe with designer originals and live the high life in L.A., Becky immediately starts scheming ways she can make her dreams come true. In spite of her ambition, life in sunny California poses more problems than perks for her. One hilarious plot after another lands Becky deeper and deeper in hot water, particularly when her best-laid plans go awry.

In her bid to get closer to Sage, Becky participates in a 10-mile run for which she's woefully unprepared, takes courses at a celebrity rehab center, and divulges an embarrassing secret that she accidentally learned about Sage's rival, actress Lois Kellerton.

"Readers are guaranteed to laugh out loud and marvel at the sheer audacity that Becky displays while in single-minded pursuit of her latest goal."

When Becky takes her two-year-old daughter, Minnie, to her first day at an exclusive preschool where Hollywood's elite send their children, she runs into an old nemesis from back home, the last person she expects to see in L.A. Unfortunately, if Becky wants to be accepted by the other parents, she's going to have to find a way to make peace with her mortal enemy, which she isn’t sure she can manage to do.

Fortunately, Becky won't have to navigate L.A. alone. Her best friend, Suzanne Cleath-Stuart; Suze's husband, Tarquin; and their children are coming to California as well. Now Becky will have a partner in crime, and she couldn't be happier.

Never one to sit by idly, Becky throws herself into pursuing a new career as a stylist to the stars. Before she knows it, her services are in hot demand, and she finds her loyalties divided between two Hollywood divas. In addition, when Becky witnesses a Hollywood scandal, she suddenly becomes front-page news. As if all that isn't enough, she’s speechless when her dad turns up in California in search of an old friend from his youth. What's a girl to do?
