Labyrinth

Husband and wife FBI agents Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock team up once again in a bizarre case that includes rogue CIA agents, a billionaire and mental telepathy.

When Sherlock is involved in a T-bone collision at an intersection, her vehicle hits someone who is running across the street in front of her. The man doesn’t stop for help; instead, he runs away and seemingly disappears. Sherlock comes away with cuts and bruises and memory loss. She can’t remember anything about the accident other than a man’s body hitting her windshield, and she doesn’t recognize her husband or her son.

"As with all of Catherine Coulter’s books, there is a lot going on here, with plenty of action and fast-paced writing that makes readers keep turning pages."

However, Sherlock does retain her FBI investigative instincts so she can work with Savich to figure out what is going on. They discover that the man is Justice Cummings, a CIA analyst at Langley, but then must determine why he ran out into the intersection and fled from the scene of the accident.

While all of this is playing out, FBI agent Griffin Hammersmith rescues a woman who claims to have been kidnapped by the local sheriff’s nephew. Carson DaSilva is sometimes able to hear what a person is thinking. In this case, she learns that the man had abducted and probably murdered three teenage girls. Hammersmith and Savich have a certain degree of mental telepathy, a gift that DaSilva shares, and together they are able to find out what actually happened to these young ladies.

As with all of Catherine Coulter’s books, there is a lot going on here, with plenty of action and fast-paced writing that makes readers keep turning pages. And I'm certainly hoping that Carson DaSilva shows up in future installments. If you’re already a fan of this long-running series, you will want to add LABYRINTH to your TBR list now.
