Lewis Black lives in New York on the Tuscarora Indian reservation. His life on the "rez" is far from glamorous. His mother works hard everyday to make ends meet because his father left without looking back. As a result, his house is shabby, to say the least. He's never owned a new set of clothing. Despite the lack of allure, this is the life that Lewis knows and loves.

These mutual appreciations are the start of a friendship that is sure to leave a great impact on the boys' lives. Together, Lewis and George deal with bullies, girlfriends and many other perils of those middle school years while getting glimpses into each other's foreign worlds.
