Zev Chafets

Zev Chafets is a noted author and columnist.  Born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan, he moved to Israel in 1967.  After a decade in the army, government and politics, he was appointed Director of the Government Press Office, a post he held for five years under Prime Minister Menachem Begin.

Chafets was the founding managing editor of the Jerusalem Report.  He is a frequent contributor to the New York Times Magazine and other prestigious international publications.  He is also the author of nine books: four works of non-fiction (DOUBLE VISION, HEROES AND HUSTLERS, HARD HATS AND HOLY MEN, MEMBERS OF THE TRIBE, AND DEVIL'S NIGHT) and five novels (INHERIT THE MOB, THE BOOKMAKERS, THE PROJECT, WHACKING JIMMY AND HANG TIME).  His latest book,A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN: Why Jews and Evangelical Christians Need Each Other, is published by HarperCollins.
