Ken Abraham

Ken Abraham is a New York Times best-selling author, known around the world for his collaborations with popular celebrities and fascinating, high-profile public figures. Such as LET'S ROLL! (Tyndale House Publishers, August, 2002),  RACING TO WIN (Multnomah, 2002), THE RIGHT THING (Integrity Publishers, 2003), PAYNE STEWART, THE AUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY, with Tracey Stewart, COMING CLEAN (WaterBrook - Doubleday- Random House), ZINGER! (Harper-Collins / Zondervan; 1995), THE GAMER (Word Publishing), THE BURDEN OF A SECRET, (Random House / Ballantine, 1995),  and I WAS WRONG.

Other Abraham collaborations include a project with music group, "The 2nd Chapter of Acts" (Sparrow); and a book with Christian music artist, Steven Curtis Chapman (EMI). In addition, Ken has written a series of four youth-oriented books with singer, Kim Boyce (David C. Cook). One of the collaborations between Kim and Ken, BEAUTY TO LAST A LIFETIME, was also a finalist in the 1993 Evangelical Christian Publishers Association's Gold Medallion Awards.

Other Abraham titles include A TENDER ROAD HOME (Broadman & Holman), the poignant story of country music star, Susie Luchsinger (Reba McEntire's sister), and the difficult journey she and her husband Paul have made through the horrors and pain of spousal abuse, and their overcoming love that brought them out of a nightmare into freedom and renewal.

Also published in 1997 were Ken's books, BRINGING OUT THE WINNER IN YOUR CHILD (Cumberland), with John Croyle, and WHO ARE THE PROMISE KEEPERS? (Doubleday). Ken is the author of forty books, including DON'T BITE THE APPLE 'TIL YOU CHECK FOR WORMS, THIS ISN'T THE TRIP I SIGNED UP FOR, UNMASKING THE MYTHS OF MARRIAGE, and STAND UP AND FIGHT BACK!

In 1998, Ken's collaborations with gospel music legend, Vestal Goodman, A JOURNEY OF FAITH (WaterBrook-Doubleday), and a book with Jim Bakker, PROSPERITY AND THE COMING APOCALYPSE (Thomas Nelson) were published. Released in 1999 were Ken's book, FAIRWAYS (Promise Press), a devotional for golfers, and THE REFUGE, with Jim Bakker (Thomas Nelson Publishers), a fascinating and refreshing look at how we really do need each other.

Ken has lent his writing and editorial talents to assist bestselling authors such as Dave Ramsey (MORE THAN ENOUGH planner, Penguin Putnam Publishers), John Hagee (TWO MINUTE WARNING; J.Countryman Publishers), Dr. Gary Chapman (YOUR GIFT OF LOVE-Selections from THE FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES), and Frank Peretti (THE WOUNDED SPIRIT, Word Publishing). YOUR GIFT OF LOVE and THE WOUNDED SPIRIT were Gold Medallion Award finalists in 2001.

Besides his work on "popular," trade books, Ken Abraham has also been active on an academic level. Ken is the editor of THE MATTHEW HENRY STUDY BIBLE (World 1994), one of the most revered and widely used commentaries on the Bible in existence. Ken penned the front notes for THE KING AND THE BEAST, the Youth edition of The Contemporary English Version (CEV) of the New Testament.

He is also the author of MAKING YOUR WORK COUNT FOR GOD and THE WORD IN YOUR LIFE, two Bible study workbooks in the Priorities for Living Series, based on the WORD IN LIFE STUDY BIBLE (Thomas Nelson), nominated for a Gold Medallion Award in 1995. In addition, Ken is the author of many of the Old Testament study notes for THE PROMISE, Study Edition of the Contemporary English Version of the Bible (Thomas Nelson). He is also the compiler of THE AWESOME STUDENT PLANNER (Nickel Press), and an eight-book series of THE BIBLE WORD PUZZLE BOOK (Nickel Press), as well as a Bible Promise book directed toward youth, ARMED AND DANGEROUS, (Barbour Publishing Company).

Ken was one of the co-developers of THE HOSANNA BIBLE, now known as THE JESUS LOVES ME BIBLE (W Publishing), a 438-page best-selling children's Bible, and winner of the 1994 Gold Medallion Award, indicating the best book in its category. PRAISE AND WORSHIP (W Publishing), another collaboration by Abraham, won the 1997 Gold Medallion for the best children's book in the pre-school category. Ken also collaborated on A TREASURY OF WISDOM (Barbour & Company), a devotional journal featuring the writings of both contemporary and classic authors. This book was nominated for a Gold Medallion Award in 1997, as well. In addition, Ken recently completed projects with Pat Robertson of "The 700 Club," Larry Jones, of "Feed the Children," and Gene Mims, President of Lifeway Christian Resources.

Ken is a former professional musician, as well as the former Senior Pastor of Christian Fellowship Center in Greensburg, PA. Educated at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Asbury College, and Asbury Theological Seminary, Ken currently resides in Franklin, (Nashville), Tennessee.

Ken attends Christ Church in Nashville, where he has been a member for more than thirteen years. He enjoys golf with his daughters, Ashleigh and Alyss
