Dave Harvey
Dave Harvey is senior pastor of Covenant Fellowship Church (Glen Mills, PA), a church he has pastored for over twenty years. WHEN SINNERS SAY “I DO”: Discovering the Power of the Gospel for Marriage reflects one of Dave’s greatest joys in ministry. He says, “Watching people make decisions for God and against sin, particularly in marriage, is an indescribable experience for a pastor. And it just keeps getting better.” The book also reflects one of Dave’s greatest strengths --- presenting theologically adept, gospel-centered words that make it easy for people to apply God’s word in everyday life.
Dave’s pronounced gift for leadership and stirring faith extends far beyond the walls of one church. Covenant Fellowship Church is part of a family of churches called Sovereign Grace Ministries. In addition to his role as pastor, Dave is a member of Sovereign Grace Ministries’ leadership team, serving churches in the northeastern U.S., overseeing the ministry’s missiology and church-planting strategies and directing Sovereign Grace’s involvement in Europe, Africa and parts of Asia.
This year he and his wife, Kimm, will celebrate twenty-five years of marriage, and they have made the cultivation of their relationship a top priority. “Kimm and I love to spend time together. I can honestly say that our date night --- Sunday night --- is a high point of the week for both of us,” says Dave. The couple also has four active kids who love to get out of the house, so they like to hike and travel together. “With two kids now in college, our family days are changing quite a bit,” Dave reflects. “But we are thrilled at the new season God is leading us into and we’re looking to squeeze all we can from the remaining time with our youngest two.”
Dave received his Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Care from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2001. He has authored three booklets in the Sovereign Grace Perspectives series and contributed to the book entitled WHY SMALL GROUPS?
Dave and Kimm live in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with their four children, and despite his many protests, one stray cat.
